Abstract
This study explored the integration of technology in home economics education in Nigeria and its impact
on teaching and learning with a focus on the current level of technology integration, perceived benefits,
challenges, and recommendations for enhancing technology integration in the field. A quantitative
research approach was employed, and data was collected through a survey questionnaire administered to
20 home economics teachers and 45 junior secondary school students. Three research questions guided
the study. Descriptive analysis, including mean, standard deviation and percentages were used to analyse
the data. Findings revealed that while there is progress in technology integration, challenges such as
limited device availability, inadequate internet connectivity, and teachers’ lack of training hindered
seamless integration. Recommendations proffered include addressing the identified challenges and
enhancing technology integration in home economics education which have hitherto underscored the
importance of infrastructure improvement, comprehensive teacher training, collaborative partnerships,
tailored curriculum development, and continuous evaluation. By implementing these recommendations,
stakeholders can create an inclusive and innovative home economics education system that equips students with the necessary digital skills for their future success.
